Argyro Meleniou, violin

Born in 2006 in Alexandroupolis, Argyro started having violin lessons in Faethon Conservatory in Alexandoupolis when she was 6 years old. In 2015 she became a member of Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra in Thessaloniki (MOYSA) after having a successful audition, under the artistic direction of Zoi Zeniodi, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned conductors as Daniele Gatti, Igor Gruppman, John-Thomas Dodson, Thomas Sanderling, Ilarion-Ionescu Galati, Li Biao and soloists as Vadim Repin, Vasilis Varvaresos, George-Emmanuel Lazaridis, Janoska Ensemble. In March 2023 she participated with MOYSA in a concert under the baton of Panagiotis Diamantis in the famous hall of Athenaeum, where the George Enescu Festival is held, in Bucharest, Romania.

Since 2016 she is having violin lessons with Alexis Theophylactou, concertmaster in the orchestra of Greek National Opera. In May 2018, she received 2nd prize in the national competition “Filon” in Athens. In July 2021 she received violin degree with honors and degree in musical theory and harmony. In Jun 2023 she graduated from International Conservatory of Athens in the class of Alexis Theophylactou, receiving violin diploma with honors, 1st prize and honorary distinction only in the age of 17.

During the past few years, she has participated in masterclasses and lessons of professors as Jacqueline Ross, Sebastian Hamann (professor in Hochschule für Musik Freiburg). In March 2024 she took part, after having a successful audition in the masterclass “Rezital Kurs” which was organized by Eva-Christina SchönweIß (professor in Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin), where she had the opportunity to collaborate with internationally recognized pianist Yukako Morikawa and to perform a full recital together in Berlin.

In November 2023, Argyro was admitted in the internationally renowned university Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, in the class of Jacqueline Ross to continue her studies.
