Fulbert Slenczka, cello

Fulbert Slenczka was born in Heidelberg and studied in Germany and USA.

He won music prizes from the Cultural Foundation of the German Industry and from the Society of American Musicians and received scholarships from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the Indiana University, Bloomington(USA).

He is principal cellist of Duisburger Philharmoniker/Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Besides, he plays chamber music from baroque to contemporary music and appeared as soloist with various orchestras where he performed standard repertoire for cello but also concertos like the cello-symphony „Heaven, Earth, Mankind“ by Tan Dun.

He gave concerts and appeared on radio and TV in America, Europe, Middle East, China Japan and South Africa and took part in various music-festivals.

He taught at Musikhochschule Detmold and made premier CD-recordings of cello compositions by Hans Gal and Anton Beer-Walbrunn.
