Katerina Chatzinikolau, violin

Katerina Chatzinikolaou was described by the Rheinische Post as a musician with "sparkling vitality and virtuosity." Since 2023, she has held the position of concertmaster of the Athens State Orchestra. She has previously served as concertmaster for the Duisburger Philharmoniker, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and the Bergische Symphoniker.

As a soloist, she made her debut with conductor Christoph Eschenbach in 2022. She has performed at the Cologne Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf, and the rbb-Rundfunksaal in Berlin. She has collaborated with the DSO Berlin, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bremerhaven, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, among others.

She is a winner of the Golden Classical Music Awards, the International London Music Competition, eMuse, the International Thöne Competition, and the Panhellenic Competition "Young Soloist." Katerina began her musical studies in Goumenissa and continued at the Pre-College of the RSH Düsseldorf with A. Kramarov. She holds a Master's degree in Music and Musicology from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where she studied under A. Daskalaki.
