Yannos Margaziotis, violinist & artistic director of ICMFC

He studied violin with Michalis Semsis, Victor Liberman, Valentin Zhukh, and Lex Korf de Gidts. He is a graduate of the Music Academy of Utrecht and the Royal Academy of The Hague. He has collaborated as a soloist with the Royal Danish Orchestra, Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra (South Korea), Musica Vitae chamber orchestra (Sweden), Athens State Orchestra, National Opera Chamber Orchestra, and others. He appears regularly at chamber music festivals in Europe, Asia, and America, collaborating with Vladimir Mendelssohn, Michaela Martin, Hariolf Schlichtig, Marko Ylönen, Frans Helmerson, Vladimir Vlatkovic, Michel Lethiec, Dimitris Sgouros, Costas Kotsiolis, and Yiannis Vakarelis. He teaches at the Athens Conservatory and the Athens College Conservatory. He is the founder and artistic director of the International Classical Music Festival of the Cyclades since 2005. He has been a principal member of the Greek National Opera Orchestra since 1994. He plays a violin made by Frédéric Chaudière.
